The 2026 NFL season is rapidly approaching.

Seven weeks from now marks the first Thursday night game of the season, with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams squaring off in the first-ever NFL regular season game in Australia, which will take place at 10:35 a.m. local time at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

A night prior, the regular season will get started with a Super Bowl rematch when the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks hosts the New England Patriots, with Seattle earning its first Lombardi trophy in a dozen years with a 29-13 win over New England this past February at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.


Before the NFL regular season fun comes the three-week long preseason for 30 teams, with two franchises opening preseason play by taking part in the annual NFL Hall of Fame Game to mark the first game action of the summer.
