WACO, Texas (FOX 44) — Hosea Wheeler’s eligibility status is no longer a question mark for Baylor.
A McLennan County judge has granted Wheeler a temporary injunction, clearing the way for the former Indiana defensive lineman and national champion to play a sixth season of college football.
Judge Ryan Luna issued the ruling, allowing Wheeler to remain eligible while his case moves forward.
Wheeler had been awaiting a ruling that could determine whether he would receive another season of eligibility. The decision provides Baylor with clarity on one of the biggest pieces of its roster heading into the season.
Wheeler, who previously played at Indiana, is a national champion and brings experience to Baylor’s defensive line.
The temporary injunction allows Wheeler to continue pursuing a sixth season of college football with the Bears.
