As figure skating fans anxiously await women's figure skating and continue to reel from Ilia Malinin's shocking finish, all American eyes are on the Olympic schedule today for the figure skating pairs finals, with Team USA's Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea and Emily Chan and Spencer Howe hoping to win gold in pairs free skate.

The Olympic pairs figure skating gold medal will be decided today with Chan and Howe and Kam and O'Shea's gold medal betting odds on Fanduel at +10000 each. Germany's Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin stand in first place and are favorites to win gold today in the pairs free skate, with Kalshi's prediction market projecting a 66% chance Fabienne Hase and Volodin win.

As we await the hotly anticipated pairs figure skating results today, Kam and O'Shea are 7th place in the standings, with Chan and Howe in 9th. Georgia, Canada, Hungary, Japan and China round out the top 6 pairs skate teams competing today. Japan's Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara were gold medal favorites but are currently in 5th place.

After the Chock and Bate ice dance Olympic controversy over the technical review of the French ice dancers, the pairs figure skating is the next Olympics figure skating event open to criticism. The US has never won Olympics pairs gold, and its last pairs medal was in 1988. Just last month, despite qualifying for the Olympics, two-time reigning champions Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov were deemed ineligible for the Olympics because Efimova was not a naturalized citizen.
