Depending on whom you ask, Jalen Carter is either set to be the highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL or he could be traded for more assets. What we do know is that his teammate Jordan Davis is now the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history after a three-year, $78 million contract extension.

Davis was the No. 13 pick in 2022 and was entering his fifth-year option season worth $12.938 million. The move keeps the ever-improving defensive tackle around for the next four years and solidifies Davis as a key building block in Philadelphia for years to come. The biggest question is what does the new deal for Davis mean for the All-Pro defensive tackle Carter, and the pass rusher, Moro Ojomo.

Carter, the No. 9 overall pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, has been an All-Pro and is a two-time Pro Bowler. He's logged 108 total tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles over the past three seasons, but dealt with shoulder injuries in 2025 that stunted his growth. Howie Roseman has talked about locking up key defenders on long-term deals, but are the Eagles prepared to extend Carter, Moro Ojomo, and potentially give Jaelan Phillips $25 million per season?
