Does Monti and his scouts suck or are these players just not being developed or not being put in a position to succeed?
Vrabel has the Patriots at 10-2.
Ben Johnson never was a head coach but coached tone of the best offenses before taking the Bears job. Now the Bears have one of the best offenses in the league.
We hired Gannon and he built a staff of rookie no names. How has that worked out?

You have to believe coaching matters and plays a big role. Look at Arians first year. Is there a Bruce Arians type coach out there we could get?

Bruce was 1 of a kind, won't find that again. But that mold would be an older coach, who's never been accepted because he's different than "normal". That's why BA never landed a job until late in his career. IDK if that dude exists. Every team is looking for the next Sean McVay and hiring young analytic dorks.

I wouldnt take the Patriots record 10-2 that seriously. Their 3rd toughest game so far was the Falcons, a game they almost lost. The Falcons are the 3rd easiest team on our schedule.

Also, Drake Maye is probably a top 5 QB. Having one of those fixes a lot of issues.

I can't pretend we'd be 10-2 playing this schedule, not after the Titans fiasco, but we'd be favored against all of these teams expect the Bucs and Bills. The Pats two losses are awful too. The Steelers are terrible this year.

The Bears schedule is just as fake, and their losses are even worse. They lost to the Ravens without Lamar and the Josh Rosen Vikings (McCarthy's success rate and EPA has dipped below Rosen) Their best win is either the extremely injured 3-8 Commanders squad or the Mason Rudolph Steelers.

I don’t buy this. You beat the teams you play week to week. I believe Vrable plays a big role.
Ben Johnson coached one of the best offenses in football when he was with Detroit. He comes to Chicago and now they have one of the best offenses in the league. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Coaching matters.
Gannon brought in a bunch of young no names. It shows.

Of course you can only play who you play, but you dont buy that who you play matters at all when evaluating the strength of a team? Wins completely shape the narrative on how well a coach is doing, and some wins come easier than others. Both the Pats and Bears are currently leading their division, do you think either team would be anywhere but 4th place in the NFC West?

The Patriots and Bears are better than us, and Vrabel and Ben have made a big difference, but they aren't top teams like their record suggests. They would be favored by Vegas to have a losing record with our schedule.

Here are 6 of our losses, Seahawks x2, 49ers x2, Colts, Packers. All of those teams would be favored to absolutely smoke the Pats or Bears. I would expect both the Pats/Bears to go somewhere between 0-6 to 1-5 if they had a stretch like that. Now imagine if instead of those games we had played the Patriots schedule: The Browns, Raiders, Jets, Bengals, Dolphins, and Falcons. We would be favored to go 6-0 or 5-1 in that stretch (as long as we dont repeat the Titans fiasco). In that alternate reality with the easier schedule we would be 9-3/8-4 and the narrative would be that our coaches are amazing. Back in reality, we're going to play the Rams twice, while the Pats are getting the Giants and a 2nd Jets/Dolphins matchup.

The Bears are going to get smoked in the playoffs unless something stupid happens like the Packers winning the division and the Bears getting matched up with the Panthers (Baker just had a horrible injury). The Bears should have a top offense with the studs on their roster, Moore, Odunze, Burden and Loveland are supremely talented. But for some reason its horribly dysfunctional when they're not playing the worst defenses in the league (Bengals, Steelers, Cowboys).

The Patriots are 6-1 against teams picking top 10 in the draft, and they have 3 more games left against teams picking top 10! Their Raiders loss is almost as bad as our Titans loss.

I’m still a fan of Lou Anarumo. We should have selected him instead of JG and he has similarities to the BA hire. Oh yeah, he’s also a solid defensive coordinator with loads of experience.

I know it’s a long shot, but Curt Cignetti from Indians is the BA clone we should be going after. 64 years old, longtime assistant under guys like Nick Saban, took the James Madison program to new heights, and is doing wonders at Indiana. Saban call Cignetti an offensive genius. He reminds me of BA because of his brash demeanor and has backed it up big time.

Very risky getting someone that old as a first time NFL coach much less a first time NFL HC.
