What does the Boston Celtics decision to extend reserve forward Jordan Walsh signal about their plans for the future? The Celtics elected to pick up the $2.4 million unguaranteed season left on the Arkansas alum's rookie contact for their looming 2026-27 campaign – and then extended for three more seasons on a potentially team-friendly deal.

The $15 million extension will pay Walsh $4.6 million for the 2027-28 NBA season, $5 million flat for 2028-29, and $5.3 million in the final year of the extension for the 2029-30 Celtics campaign. But this deal could hint at the Dallas, Texas native finishing this contract with a new ball club, and the folks behind the "Boston Celtics on MassLive" YouTube channel put together a clip to break down why this might be the case.
