The Milwaukee Brewers face their rivals to the south for the second time this season when they host the Chicago Cubs in a three-game series June 26-28 at American Family Field.
The last time the two National League Central Division rivals saw each other, the Brewers won, 5-0, on May 20 to complete a three-game series sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Since that time, the Brewers (49-29) have taken command of the Central, opening a 6½-game lead over the second-place Cubs (44-37).
The Brewers will send out their top two pitchers – basically ace No. 1 and ace No. 2 – in Jacob Misiorowski and Kyle Harrison in the first two games of the series.
Misiorowski has positioned himself as the early Cy Young Award favorite in the National League by going 8-3 with a 1.45 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 93 innings.
Harrison has matched Misiorowski’s output this season – except in strikeouts, of course – apart from a bad outing in that so-called ballpark in Las Vegas. He's 8-1 with a 2.50 ERA.
While the Brewers' starting pitching is set for the series – with Brandon Woodruff going Sunday – the Cubs rotation is in flux due to injuries that have pounded the rotation. They're undecided on their starting pitchers for the final two games of the series.
