AUBURN — Jackson Arnold's biggest win of the 2024 season came against his new program's biggest rival.

Then quarterbacking Oklahoma's offense, Arnold led the Sooners to a 24-3 victory over then-No. 7 Alabama in Norman. He left the program after the season and chose Auburn football.
While he's only been on the Plains a handful of months, he's already learned plenty about the Tigers' relationship with the program he once upset, even if his first Iron Bowl seven months away.
"It's a lot more than I thought," Arnold said Wednesday. "I grew up a Georgia fan, so it was always Georgia-Auburn, Georgia-Florida. I understood that. And then I come here and they hardly even want to say the name 'Alabama.' They're just constantly butting heads with that school, but I love it though."
Arnold will have a chance to do what has become unthinkable in recent years when the programs play Nov. 29 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Alabama was won the past five Iron Bowls, and going back to 2010, the Tigers are 4-11 against Alabama.
"I love the South's old rivalries like that," Arnold said. "I grew up watching them, and so I'm super excited to play in the Iron Bowl."
