Several WWE stars have been or soon will be able to say they competed in WrestleMania, but only the best are able to say they were a WrestleMania main eventer.
As the premier event in wrestling, there is immense honor in being able to close out the show. The entire week and event builds up to the match, and the entire wrestling world watches with anticipation. It often produces some of the grandest moments in WrestleMania history. Since WrestleMania moved to a two-day spectacle in 2020, it's allowed for more stars the chance to close out the show, and while the Sunday night main event is technically the true top match, it's still a big deal to end Saturday night.
This year's main event matches have been determined and the stars are no strangers to the spotlight, as nearly all of them have closed out the show before, and one of them will finally get their dream of reaching the top match of WrestleMania.
The triple threat match between Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins is the main event of WrestleMania 41 on night one.
It's nothing new for Reigns as it will be his 10th WrestleMania main event match, a WWE record. He was in both main event matches at WrestleMania 40 and it will be the fifth consecutive year he will be in the closing match. Rollins will be in his third WrestleMania main event match. He was also part of the 2024 Saturday night main event, and had the memorable one in 2015 when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract in the "Heist of the Century."
This WrestleMania will be the first time Punk will be in the main event match, something he longed sought and was part of his departure from the company in 2014. He came back to WWE in 2023 with the goal of fulfilling that dream, and he does so at WrestleMania 41.
The Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena is the main event of WrestleMania 41 night two and the overall show's main event.
Rhodes will be competing in his fourth straight WrestleMania main event match, as he was in the 2023 closer and in both main event matches in WrestleMania 40. Cena will be in his sixth WrestleMania main event match and this will be his first since WrestleMania 29 in 2013.
Reigns vs. Punk vs. Rollins will take place Saturday, April 19. While there is no set time for when the match begins, history suggests the match will start about 10 p.m. ET.
Rhodes vs. Cena will be on Sunday, April 20. There also is no set time for the closing match, but last year's final match began just after 9:30 p.m. ET.
The event will be streamed on Peacock, but you must have their premium or premium-plus subscription to watch. Internationally, it will be available on Netflix in most markets.
