I just realized we have a roster half full of players that would have been unprotected in an expansion draft. The few decent players we have are either rookies or are guys drafted 10 years ago.

Plus we wiped out our entire coaching staff and most of the front office so basically we are starting from scratch.

We're the Houston Texans of 2002.

Oh well at least we'll be competitive in 2023.

Good lord...you're almost right. There's really just three players that separate us from an expansion team: Fitz, Peterson and Washington. No expansion team has veterans that good on it.

You are right. And I thought about that. Thought maybe I could say the NFL gave us 3-4 good veterans to speed up the process of catching up to the rest of the NFL.

It's sad looking at the current roster populated with cast offs from other teams that wouldn't even keep them on cap friendly contracts.

Thankfully we have some decent young players. But then we had some decent young players 2 years ago and look at us now.

I'm not even confident that the Cards can win their usual quota of 5 games.

I think the future looks pretty good. Next year's OL, once we draft Kouandjio, will be improved and more athletic. Cyrus, Cooper, Sendlein, Watford, and Brown will be much better than this year's unit.

The rest of the offense has players in place, maybe except TE, and the defense, after we draft Khalil Mack in round 2, will only be a SS away from being legit at every position. Of course, we'd have to milk another year out of DD but that's possible.

The big question is, will Palmer be the guy in 2014? I think he will be, but I also think a guy like Mallet, who I believe will be UFA, could be a possibility.

Duckjake, put your expertise on the line. Will we win five or more games? Yes or no.

Yes. 5-11. It's what they do.

However. Tobin, McGinnis, Green and Whisenhunt averaged 7-9 their first season as Cards HC. So it could be 7-9.

But history aside I don't think they win 4 games.

*sigh*.

Been saying this for a while now...the owner is the same.

Don't ever say "expansion team" on here. It always reminds me of how close we were to getting our own expansion team, instead of the lowly Cards. Please don't remind us. Do you like making us cry?
