Has any Bayern Munich player seen his stock rise as much as Aleksandar Pavlović this season?

The midfielder is successfully making the jump from exciting prospect to star midfielder.

Calm, composed, skilled, and increasingly more physical and and aggressive, Pavlović has really emerged as a bonafide building block for the future and maybe the keystone for the next generation.

As such, the 21-year-old is getting A LOT of attention these days, including from Chelsea. According to a report from CaughtOffside journalist Mark Brus, Chelsea is ready to get talks started:

I’ve also been told that Chelsea are expected to open discussions with the Bundesliga champions directly in the coming weeks, though any negotiations are unlikely to lead to a breakthrough given the player’s stance and Bayern’s position.

In addition to Chelsea, Brus is reporting that Manchester City has already held talks with Pavlović:

Sources in the industry indicate that Manchester City have already held informal talks with people close to the player, but despite this interest, Pavlovic’s priority remains to stay with Bayern Munich.

At this point, these reports do not mean a whole lot. Pavlović, whose contract runs through 2029, has given no indication that he would like to leave Bavaria. In addition, Pavlović is exactly the kind of player whom Bayern Munich will get proactive with if it senses there is some heat on the youngster to leave.

To put it plainly, these reports are not anything to worry about. As he continues to improve, though, Pavlović could become the special kind of midfielder whom the heavy hitters start chasing.

While fans and pundits have praised the blazing potential of 18-year-old Lennart Karl and marveled at 24-year-old Michael Olise’s incredible ability to fill up the scoresheet, Bayern Munich’s most vital piece for the future could be Pavlović.

Song of the Week: “Joker and the Thief” by Wolfmother

There are plenty of reasons that this song always hits for me:

  • The Jackass guys being in the video harkens back to a way simpler time.
  • The callback to it being in The Hangover made me laugh, too.
  • Ah hell, it is just a cool song.

A lot of people might recognize it from the litany of video games it has appeared in, but this 2006 sing is still cool to me. Enjoy:

Entertainment Rundown

Admittedly, my streaming and television watching hit a wall this week, aside of slowing working through the second season of Landman. However, there was some interesting news on the Game of Thrones front:

A ‘GAME OF THRONES’ movie is in the works at Warner Bros.

Beau Willimon (‘Andor’) is set to write the script.

You might be wondering what the subject matter of the movie might be and speculation is running rampant. Some have theorized that it could be the “Aegon’s Conquest” or maybe “Robert’s Rebellion”? There is rumored to be a version of “Aegon’s Conquest” in the works, so maybe that will be the film? Either way, it will be interesting to see the subject matter.

Also, here is the rundown of what is in the works for the Game of Thrones universe, which has been reinvigorated with the success of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms:

Current state of the ’GAME OF THRONES’ Universe:

• ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 – Premieres this June

• ‘The Mad King’ Roberts Rebellion prequel play – Premieres this July/August

• ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Season 2 – Premieres in 2027

• ‘Aegon's Conquest’… pic.twitter.com/HH8ZRovcnc

Admittedly, this pick was made before the news dropped that Harry Kane was going to miss the game. Rather than waver, we are going full Norman Dale:
