Week 01

@ St. Louis Rams

Sun, 09/12 at 1:15 PM MST

Away:
Edward Jones Dome

TV: FOX KSAZ-10

  • Radio: AM 620 KTAR
  • Sirius: 122
My what to look for:
Injury updates for Beanie, LSH and fitz
Can Anderson grab the bull by the horns?
Bradford looked great in preseason, can we still rip them apart?
The rams only threat is steven jackson, if we lose this game it will be a longgggggg season.
Toler must shut down the rams weak recievers, he will have #2 on a squad that has no #1.
Does Dan Williams get any snaps? Who starts at nose?
I want to see sacks from porter, dockett and campbell.
Expect a heavy dose of hightower even if beanie gets to 90%.

My prediction Cardinals 31 - Rams 10.

Rams will be sky high to beat the 2-time NFC West Champs. I expect the Rams to be a better football team than people think & stay close in the 1st half. A critical game for the Cardinals right out of the chute as we follow this one up with a tough road game @ Atlanta. Fully expect the Cardinals to play better here than they did in season opener last year vs. 49ers. Warner was listless and at about 60% for that game & team took on his demeanor. I expect Anderson to be aggressive & will take some shots downfield early on. Cardinals will put a lot of pressure on the rookie QB that will eventually turn into TO's. Whiz & Cardinals are salivating to prove everyone wrong.

Cardinals 27
Rams 13

I think that Jay Feely will be the teams leading scorer because of DA's lack of touch in the red zone.

With the signing of Mark Clayton, the Rams now have a #1 receiver, but no #2.

I consider Clayton a #2 anyway, then behind him are nobodies. If we do not shut down the passing game we have problems.

I'm interested in seeing how well Washington plays against the run.

If Brian Robinson starts at NT I'm throwing my souvenir "Shane is a Troll" Beer Mug at the Television.

How to Cook a Ram's fan
Ingredients:

One large or two small Rams fans.
Ketchup.
2 large cloves garlic.
Crisco or other solid vegetable shortening.(Lard may be substituted).
1 keg cheap beer.
1 lb. pinto beans.
2 cups finely chopped habanero peppers

Directions:

First, catch a Rams fan. This is easily done by putting a
Kurt Warner bumper sticker on your car and then pretending you have broken down.
Remove the tail and horns. Carefully separate the large ego and
reserve for sauce. Remove any pencils, calculators, slide rules, or
large belt buckles and discard. Clean the RF as you would an
armadillo, but leave the horny shell. If you have an older RF,
(test this by asking if they remember the last Rams football team to win 3 or more games), you may wish to tenderize by pounding the RF on a
rock with a flat heavy object.

Next, pour 1/2 of the keg of beer into a bathtub and soak the
Rams Fan in the beer for at least 12 hours. (If your RF did a lot of tailgating you may skip this step.) When the RF is sufficiently
soaked, remove any clothes the RF may be wearing and rub it all
over with the garlic. Then cover the RF with Crisco, If it is a female RF use a slow circular motion, if male use the spray stuff. Take care to cover every inch of the RF's body with the shortening.

Now post the following topics to ASFN:

Matt Leinart Was Better Than Derek Anderson
The 49ers are a lock to win the NFC West
Ken Whisenhunt has lost his mind
Adrian Wilson is the most overrated player in the NFL

Post at least 3 copies to ensure adequate flames for cooking your
RF. When the flames have died down to a medium inferno, place your
RF on top of your terminal until it's well tanned and the hair
turns bleached blond. Make a sauce by combining the previously
reserved ego, the peppers, and ketchup to taste using cat(1) (see
note). Redirect the output to your blender and puree' until smooth.
Slice the RF as you would any turkey, and serve accompanied by the
pinto beans and the remaining beer.

Not impressed with the offense. They looked good on the opening drive until Hightower fumbled but haven't done squat since. The OL isn't giving DA a ton of time either.
