Perhaps the only bright spot in the Dallas Cowboys position group of linebackers has been DeMarvion Overshown. The standout third-year player out of the University of Texas has been the poster child for dynamic injury recovery. After missing his rookie year with an ACL injury from training camp, Overshown made it back to start the 2024 season.

Aside from Micah Parsons, Overshown was the team's best defender. He excelled as a run and pursuit linebacker and also as a pass rusher. But Overshown tore his ACL yet again, and was out until midseason 2025. He's still been the best back-seven defender, despite DC Matt Eberflus not using him in the same capacity.

But Dallas will have to finish their Week 16 game without him, as he suffered a concussion and has been ruled out for the contest.

With the Cowboys playing in just four days, on Christmas when they travel to Maryland to take on the Washington Commanders, it's hard to expect Overshown to clear protocol, no matter the severity of his concussion. Those clearance's normally don't happen until Friday after a Sunday game.
