Watkins puts Villa back in front after Van Dijk equals PL-best return
In the battle for Champions League football, both Aston Villa and Liverpool's main men have stepped up and, in one, case fell over at Villa Park.
Trailing to Morgan Rogers' first-half opener, Virgil Van Dijk headed in an equaliser just six minutes after the break from Dominik Szoboszlai's fine free-kick.
It was the Reds' captain's fifth Premier League goal of the season, equalling his best ever return from 11 years in England's top flight.
After Rio Ngumoha almost completed a stunning Liverpool comeback, hitting the post with a brilliant effort, Szoboszlai would go from hero to zero.
The Hungarian - who has been his club's best player this season - slipped trying to receive a throw-in, allowing Morgan Rogers to find Ollie Watkins who made no mistake from insde the box.
It continued the England striker's stunning and well-timed return to scoring form, as well as his excellent record against Liverpool.
