The Chicago Bears showed a real commitment to the trenches this offseason, bringing in several additions on both the offensive and defensive lines, and that continued with their early draft selections. After trading back with the Buffalo Bills, the Bears used their 62nd overall pick to select defensive tackle Shemar Turner out of Texas A&M.

Coming into the draft, Turner was known to have a mean and violent streak about him, which will fit well with new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and endear him to the Bears fanbase.

On Friday night, Turner got the call from general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Ben Johnson, president/CEO Kevin Warren, and defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett, who is in his first year with the team. Watch as Turner gets welcomed to the Bears organization as the team's third second-round selection.

Turner joins defensive line additions Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo for new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and position coach Garrett.

Turner is the latest addition to the defensive line room, which also welcomed veteran newcomers Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo. The rookie will have a chance to learn from several veterans including Jarrett, Andrew Billings, and Gervon Dexter Sr., bringing plenty of depth to the interior defensive line.
