Michigan State hockey star Porter Martone has signed his entry level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, and on Tuesday, he made his NHL debut with the team. On the night of his NHL debut, he got indoctrinated into the NHL with a method that has been around the block.

On Tuesday, the Flyers sent Martone on a rookie lap, a ceremonial trip around the ice by himself. A true sign that the Spartans star has arrived to the NHL.
