The Ohio State Buckeyes women's hockey team is currently No.2 in the country. However, they will be spending the next few weeks without one of their best players, Junior forward Joy Dunne. Dunne is in Italy right now, playing for Team USA at the Winter Olympics. And she is making the most of her time away from Columbus.

In Team USA's first game, a Group A round robin match against Czechia, Dunne picked up her first ever Olympic goal in her first ever Olympic game. Dunne's opportunity was created by Tessa Janecke (who currently plays for Penn State), who stole the puck in the offensive zone. Her push to the goal was turned away, but she got the puck behind the net before finding a slashing Dunne on a perfect centering pass. Dunne slammed the puck home for an easy goal and a 2-0 Team USA lead.

Later in the second period, former Buckeye Hannah Bilka also assisted on a goal that stretched Team USA's lead to 4-1. The Americans would go on to win by a final score of 5-1. Team USA and Canada are the prohibitive favorites to meet in the eventual Gold Medal game.
