Jordyn Tyson caught a lot of passes at Arizona State, which propelled him to becoming the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. To celebrate the New Orleans Saints' first round pick, the Big 12 Conference shared a 40-minute highlight reel of almost every catch Tyson made over the last two years with the Sun Devils.
Just look at the raw numbers: 136 receptions for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdown catches, plus 5 rushing yards and a touchdown across 24 games. Tyson also converted 88 first downs at ASU. That's a very, very strong resume to bring with him to New Orleans. Look for Tyson to take a lot of pressure off of Chris Olave's shoulders while giving Tyler Shough a much-needed weapon to look for on the other side of the field.
After those two? You figure Devaughn Vele and Bryce Lance, both players the Saints invested fourth-round picks in (trading one to the Denver Broncos for Vele, later drafting Lance with another one) are locks to make the team. That leaves a crowd of guys like Mason Tipton, Ja'Lynn Polk, Bub Means, Trey Palmer, and rookie sixth rounder Barion Brown competing for one or two roster spots. Training camp should bring a heated competition.
What's most important for Tyson will be staying healthy. He missed multiple games with injuries in each year of college, with a torn ACL ending his freshman year and sidelining him for his entire sophomore season. An unlucky broken collarbone cut his junior year short. Last season, he missed three games with a hamstring injury. The Saints ranked among league leaders in the fewest games missed to hamstring and other soft-tissue injuries last season, so they're optimistic they can manage Tyson's workload and keep him active on Sundays. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see a new highlight reel from him in black and gold.
