The standard in place was and is that the Commish is the sole decision maker on personal conduct. Nothing has changed this fundamental. Dwash can go to the courts but they are reluctant to involve themselves in collectively bargained issues. The league would fight and Dwash, figuratively, will be old, grey and penniless by the time the final decision is made.

Guess we will see. Personal prejudices aside, if he gives more than 5 gamer it's going to fun to watch.

This is purely a reactionary move on Goodell's part. Trying to save face. Had he done the right thing in Ray Rice's case, this wouldn't have been necessary. Instead he slapped him on the wrist. The public doesn't understand the drug program was collectively bargained. The public just sees gross injustice and unfairness between Rice and Gordon.

How can you say that when there have been two NFL players who have killed individuals because they were drinking and driving?

I can say that because you merely referred to drug use v. Domestic abuse. I absolutely believe DUIs should be prosecuted even harder then failing a drug test by the league.

The crime in all this is that he gets paid ANYTHING AT ALL. Player who violate should have their entire livelihood taken away for the time of the ban. Its silly the Cards should have to pay him 7 million.

He will go to some other team and be a great feel good story about the guy who turned his life around and is playing again in the NFL, meanwhile the Cards are left with the consequences of his suspension on the field and have to pay for it too.
