CINCINNATI, OHIO - MAY 12: Jacob Young #30 and Luis García Jr. #2 of the Washington Nationals celebrate after García Jr. hit a home run during the second inning against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on May 12, 2026 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Nats won the first game of the series emphatically in Cincinnati. They hit a whopping six home runs in the 10-4 blow out win. Now, they will look to follow that up with another strong performance to claim a series win. Hopefully they do not drop the ball like they did in Miami.

With a lefty on the mound, the Nats lineup looks pretty different. Curtis Mead and Joey Wiemer will be in the lineup after missing out last night. Wiemer will be in right field, which pushes James Wood to left field and Daylen Lile to DH. Mead will be over at first base and hit second. Keibert Ruiz remains behind the plate and Jake Irvin will be on the mound in this one.

The Reds only made one personnel change, but there is a lot of movement around the lineup. Former Nat Nathaniel Lowe will be DH’ing tonight for the Reds. TJ Friedl will move way down the lineup from leadoff to 8th. Sal Stewart goes from DH to third base in this one and Will Benson will be in the leadoff spot. Nick Lodolo makes his second start of the season after missing the first month with an injury.

Game 2 in the 513.
