The Nats have had no answers for the Cubs’ fearsome offense so far this series. Alex Bregman, Seiya Suzuki and PCA have overwhelmed the Nats. However, they will get the chance to salvage a contest this afternoon. With their ace on the mound, this is a game the Nats need to have.

With a righty who is actually slightly better against lefties on the mound, Blake Butera has a different looking lineup. CJ Abrams and Abi Ortiz are the top two. However, righties like Dylan Crews, Andres Chaparro, Brady House and Andrew Pinckney are in the lineup. Jorbit Vivas is also in for the struggling Nasim Nunez. As mentioned, ace Cade Cavalli is on the bump.

The Cubs are also making a couple changes. With a righty on the mound, Michael Conforto is at DH. That moves Pedro Ramirez to second base, who gives Nico Hoerner a day off. Miguel Amaya will also do the catching. Deadline addition Kevin Gausman will make his second start for the Cubs.

Getting swept after finally getting a sweep would be a real bummer. The Nats need to do whatever it takes to avoid that. Limiting this Cubs offense will be tough, but it is necessary. Follow along in the comments down below and let’s go Nats!
