After 14 prospects descended on Montlake for their official visits over the weekend, several of the six that remain uncommitted came away with very favorable impressions of the Washington Huskies.
Among them was three-star quarterback Caden Jones, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound product of Crean Lutheran High School in Southern California. Ranked as the nation's No. 36 quarterback and No. 43 player in the state by 247Sports, he holds 40 offers and has been a priority target of Jedd Fisch's coaching staff for a long time, even after the Huskies earned a commitment from four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf in April.
Jones, who also holds a basketball offer from coach Danny Sprinkle, came away very impressed from his most recent trip to Seattle, and according to Rivals' Adam Gorney (subscription required), is reconsidering where the Huskies stand in his top seven, which also includes Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, North Carolina, and UCLA.
While he's also added an official visit to California on June 15 to his docket, Jones has held several crystal balls from Rivals to commit to Arizona, Fisch's former school, since early March. Since then, he's taken several visits to Washington, while quarterbacks coach JP Losman also flew south during a contact period to meet with the coveted signal caller.
Although he was limited to just four games by an injury during his sophomore year, Jones showed off plenty of promising traits during his junior year, highlighted by his impressive athleticism, which would fit very well in Fisch's offense when asked to run bootleg plays and similar actions that get him outside the pocket and on the move.
If Jones were to choose the Huskies, it would be a sign that at least one, more likely two, quarterbacks would enter the transfer portal at the end of the 2026 season.
