Every season, the Washington Huskies have a player who is highly respected at his position. Most recently, they stockpiled talent at the receiver position with Rome Odunze and Denzel Boston. This season, they have a potential high-impact player at tight end. In a recent article, Roman Tomashoff discusses where Decker DeGraaf is ranked among other tight ends and why he projects him as the Huskies' top offensive weapon this season. Here is what he had to say about the Huskies' tight end:

"Ahead of his junior season with the Washington Huskies, tight end Decker DeGraaf has a great opportunity to establish himself as one of the go-to options for quarterback Demond Williams Jr., with wide receiver Denzel Boston off to the NFL draft.

Now that the 6-foot-4, 249-pound DeGraaf is eligible for the draft himself, ESPN's Matt Miller ranked him as the No. 5 prospect at the position ahead of what is expected to be a loaded 2027 class behind Oregon's Jamari Johnson, LSU's Tre'Dez Green, Texas Tech's Terrance Carter Jr., and Temple's Peter Clarke.

After DeGraaf pulled in 32 catches for 360 yards and 2 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign, he's expected to be a key piece of the offense now that Quentin Moore has graduated, and Washington's coaching staff is looking to see him take a big step forward in several areas of his game.

Since his arrival, DeGraaf has also added more than 20 pounds in an attempt to improve as a run blocker, and with Moore out of the picture, he will have plenty of chances to live up to Miller's ranking, especially if he can improve as an in-line blocker."

DeGraaf is a key player to watch for the Huskies this season, and he has a clear path to being the Huskies' next highly drafted skill position player. His reliability and every bit of his skillset will be needed for the Huskies to make any kind of noise this season in the Big Ten.
