As Washington Huskies running backs coach Scottie Graham turns his attention to the 2028 class, he has his eye on the son of a former All-Pro running back.
Noel Washington, the son of Leon Washington, who played nine years in the NFL across four teams and was named to the All-Pro First Team in 2008 as a kick returner with the New York Jets and again to the Second Team in 2010 with the Seattle Seahawks, could quickly become one of Jedd Fisch's coaching staff's top targets.
The younger Washington, who is listed at 6-foot and 185 pounds and ranked as the nation's No. 195 overall prospect and No. 13 running back by 247Sports, received an offer from the Huskies in mid-May, as they joined seven other programs, including Arizona, California, Kansas, Nebraska, and UCLA, in the race for his services.
Through his first two years at Notre Dame High School in Southern California, Washington has showcased all of the traits of a ball carrier who can be a featured piece of a college offense. As a sophomore, he tallied 782 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground and added 9 catches for 74 yards and a score.
On film, he showcases great top-end speed in the open field and the extra gear needed to break away from defenders, along with an impressive jump cut to create running lanes for himself. The younger Washington also shows a natural feel for the position that comes from having learned the position from an early age, as not only did his father accrue 3,557 scrimmage yards and 20 touchdowns in his career, but his stepfather is former UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster, who starred at the position for the Bruins.
Over the last two years, Graham has proven to be a very strong recruiter for the Huskies and has added a pair of four-star prospects in the last two classes with Brian Bonner in 2026 and Jeremy Adeyanju in 2027.
As Fisch continues to sell his NFL connections, that shouldn't be hard with Washington's family, as the UW head coach was the quarterbacks coach with the Seahawks in 2010.
