Aug. 5 (UPI) -- The Washington Commanders agreed to a one-year contract with veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Sources told NFL Network, The Athletic and ESPN that the pact is worth up to $12 million.

Diggs totaled 85 catches for 1,013 yards and four scores over 17 starts last season for the New England Patriots. The Patriots had signed Diggs to a three-year, $63.5 million deal last off-season, but released the four-time Pro Bowl selection in March.

Diggs, 32, totaled 11,504 yards and 74 scores off 942 catches over the first 161 appearances of his career. He totaled at least 100 catches and 1,000 yards in five of six seasons from 2018 through 2023.

He will join a wide receivers room that also includes Terry McLauren. Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, Treylon Burks, Antonio Williams, Van Jefferson, Dyami Brown and Jacoby Jones.

The Commanders will host the Miami Dolphins for joint practices next week in Ashburn, Va. They will face the Dolphins in their preseason opener Aug. 14 in Landover, Md.
