The Golden State Warriors have hit a bit of a rough patch. While they only had a limited number of healthy players on Sunday night against the New York Knicks, the Warriors jumped to an early lead, holding a surprise 21-point advantage. However, the Warriors didn't have the firepower to keep up with the Knicks down the stretch as they completed a late comeback win, extending the Warriors' losing streak to a season-high five games. With the second leg of a back-to-back set for Monday night in Washington, things weren't getting any easier for the Warriors.

Yet, when they needed it most, their newly acquired big man came to the rescue against his former team. Kristaps Porzingis dropped a season-high 30 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field to go along with five boards, four assists, three blocks and two steals in 26 minutes off the bench on Monday night in Washington. Porzingis got to the free-throw line with consistency on Monday, hitting 13 of 14 shots from the stripe. Behind Porzingis, the Warriors snapped their losing streak and secured a much-needed 125-117 win over the Wizards.

De'Anthony Melton provided a spark to Golden State's struggling offense, scoring 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field with five boards and four assists in 30 minutes.

The Warriors' win on Monday marked the 600th career win for head coach Steve Kerr. Kerr became the fourth-fastest coach in league history to record 600 wins. In over 900 career games, Kerr has posted a 600-340 record. Kerr is the 30th coach to join the 600 club, joining notable coaches like Gregg Popovich, Don Nelson, Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, Doc Rivers, Rick Carlisle, Al Attles and Erik Spoelstra. Golden State assistant Terry Stotts has also won over 600 games as a head coach.

After getting Tuesday off, the Warriors will continue their road trip with a tough contest against Eastern Conference contender, the Boston Celtics.
