Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain in Tuesday night's Game 1 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Curry will be re-evaluated in one week, ruling him out for at least Game 2, Game 3 and Game 4. The all-time great NBA sharpshooter doesn't have a specific target date set for his return.
In the midst of this unfortunate injury news for Curry, the 37-year-old point guard was honored with a notable announcement on Thursday.
Curry was named a member of the Professional Basketball Writers Association's All-Interview First Team, recognizing players who are "consistently thoughtful, insightful and engaging with the media."
Curry is featured on the first team alongside Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Draymond Green. The second team includes Tyrese Haliburton, Mike Conley Jr., Josh Hart, Bam Adebayo and Damian Lillard.
The Warriors' official PR account reposted this announcement on social media.
Curry spoke to media during the Warriors' shoot-around on Thursday.
"This is new," Curry said. "And from all that I’m learning about how quickly you can get back, there has to be a healing process. That's just how your body works, and you can't accelerate it more than what it is telling you."

"It'll be one of those [injuries], after a week, really evaluating every day to kind of understand when it's safe just to even think about playing," he continued. "Let alone, how much can you push it."
Without Curry, the Warriors will tipoff against the Timberwolves at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
