Warriors all-time great Klay Thompson has new trade price revealed, and it should interest Golden State originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Former Golden State Warriors legend Klay Thompson is still with the Dallas Mavericks, though many have suggested that a trade could be coming over the next few months.
The Mavericks, who decided to move on from Luka Doncic in one of the worst decisions in NBA history, haven't made many of the right decisions in recent years.
That's part of why many have suggested that Thompson could be available to Dallas. Not to say that the Warriors would ever reunite with him at this stage, but according to the latest report, the Mavericks could be interested in trading him for just a few second-round picks.
“Klay Thompson, Mavericks. (Remaining contract: one year, $17 million.) Another aging Mav! Thompson does not fit Dallas’s timeline, and if the Mavs can get anything–youth, a few second-rounders–for him, they will. He’s still a 38% 3-point shooter,” Sean Deveny wrote.
It's interesting to see Thompson only go for a few second-round picks at this stage of his career, but I don't think it's crazy that this is happening.
He's still a decent player in his own right, and he does a lot of good on a basketball court. However, he isn't the same caliber player that he once was with the Warriors, something Golden State noticed at the end of his career.
