That was big of you Chris. I'm sure Mitch appreciated that too. I'm glad you're back Mitch!

Good man Chris. I am glad that Mitch is coming back, and have had conversations via PM with him regarding my regret of his leaving.

That said, let's remember that opposition of opinion is what makes message boards interesting. Obviously things can be handled more appropriately and class when we differ in opinions (I definitely am not guiltless either). But there has to be some balance somewhere between those who whine, get pissed, or attack others when they disagree with their opinions, and an over the top love fest where people feel like there they can't disagree with certain peoples thoughts.

I know Mitch is fine with apposing opinions, so I for one (and I am obviously not speaking for the entire board) hope this doesn't turn into some over-the-top love fest where no one ever argues the things he puts in his threads. When he makes comments that I disagree with (and he often does :) ) I will continue to state my disagreement, and I hope all others do likewise when they disagree with me. While it's always important to be classy, it's always important for people to continue to give their opinion. That's what makes this place great.

Very good to hear. It's always good when a long time member comes back. After a spending so much time even thru the good and bad with anyone you tend to become friends in your own way. Welcome back Mitch. Though I've just started posting recently, I hope one day I can have similar welcoming with all the good folks here as well.

I'm also impressed by you Chris for extending the olive branch, even going so far as to offer to step down. Grade A in my book, and takes a real man to do that. Especially on the wild west known as the (Internetz).

I would post a welcome back pic, but I don't have those crazy amazing powers yet. :D

Cheers!

WTH is NEZ?

I remember NEM...but no NEZ....

NEZ: a group of crazed individuals who used to sit in the North End Zone at SDSand participate on the Cards boards.

Also a typographical error in referring to NEM.

:D

NEZ...oh yea! I used to sit there at SDS, right in front of O!

...no wonder I can't remember anything...

Hello All,

As I felt I was the proverbial needle the broke Walter's back, I have been speaking with him privately via e-mail.

Mitch didn't approach me at all on this and seemed content to move on. However, he is clearly an appreciated member of this board (including by me) and there was no reason to lose someone from this vibrant community, especially on the dawn on the new season.

I had asked him to come back, even going as far as to step down as a Cardinals moderator if need be.

Mitch didn't want me to step down, but I was able to convince him to return to the board. I do not want this to turn into "Mitch didn't leave after all" because that isn't what happened.

I extended the invite to return and he accepted. I am not interested in anyone knocking him for coming back. I will remove posts that are anything other than gracious. A lot of people like having him around and everyone should support that.

He will be posting a review on the game on Friday. I know I look forward to reading it. And yeah...I miss K9 too :D

Chris

I like all the posters on the board in that they all bring something different. But Chris I commend you for going out of your way to do this. Its not something you had to do, but it definitely takes a big man to admit they could have caused the problem. I am happy that he is coming back and also happy you will not be stepping down, because any moderator who goes out of his way like this for the good of the board is the type of Mods I want running this place. Thanks again for helping make this place what it is

NEM...what a bitter old man. Dude went on & on for years about how the Cards would never get a staduim, would always suck..etc etc.

He would get banned then be back and tell some sad story about how cruel life was to him to gain sympathy and then start in with his same bs.

There were times he was good for comic relief, but I can't say I miss him at all

NEM was the heavy Patriot fan -- right?

I heard his head exploded when New England didn't make the playoffs and the Cards were in the Super Bowl.

Yep, that's the one! One of the original perma-bann's! NEM was actually a acronym for New England Mike...should have been named Grima Wormtougne...LOL!

I kinda miss Tango, if that's any indication of my mindset.

Chris is a Man. Not that he needs my qualification, but still, had to be said.

Just for clarification.

NEM was never allowed to post here on Skkorpion's board. It was because of guy's like him that Jim started this site. NEM tried to come in under several different identities, but was always quickly found out.

NEZ and NEM are entirely different persons.

*** was like Voldemort on this board, you know, "the name that couldn't be spoken". He was a regular on the old azprosports board, along with Walter and most of the original gang here. I think he was on the AZ Central site, too, (and once again, Walter was there, too) which is where I first started reading about the Cards on the internet and found out that I wasn't alone in the world. :) Of course I was a lurker in those days and never even joined those boards.

As a matter of fact, I remember WM writing this hugely detailed draft analysis for the 1999 draft that predicted that we were going to take John Tait, I believe, and the prediction was so bold, well-reasoned and assured that I was absolutely shocked when we took David Boston.

Hmmm...I guess we have been at this for a long time, haven't we?

This is welcome news. I really enjoy Mitch's insightful and detailed posts. Invariably I glean something new and informative from them.

I'm not a huge Cards fan (but possibly coming around). Mitch's posts were about the only I read here--I could care less about what he gets right or wrong or whatever caused the drama, Mitch knows a lot about football and the team and he obviously spends a lot of time giving the best (usually very well informed) analysis he can, and for those who don't spend a lot of time on this board but want to follow the Cardinals closely, that's invaluable. I'm glad he'll be back.

Once again...

We are one great big happy dysfunctional family.

(Note - I can't help but wonder whether Skkorp is looking down on all this gritting his teeth. Or instead is actually laughing his *ss off.
