Bryson DeChambeau: a machine among men.
One of the best new features on the Masters website and app this year is shot tracking on the range, where every single shot by every player on the practice range at Augusta National Golf Club is accounted for. It gives another look at the prep players do leading into the first major of the year, and of course DeChambeau had some eye-popping numbers Tuesday.
The two-time U.S. Open Champion hit 393 shots on the range Tuesday, which is over 100 more than the next closest golfer. Max Homa hit 247 shots, which is a lot in its own right, yet DeChambeau took 146 more lashes at golf balls.
In contrast, amateur Josele Ballester had the fewest amount of shots, hitting only 14 on the range before playing a practice round with three Spanish Masters champs in Jose Maria Olazabal, Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm.
