With the regular season winding down for some athletes and the postseason ramping up for others, the Eugene-Springfield area saw no shortage of standout performances over the past week.

Every week, you get to vote for The Register-Guard's Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Active Chiropractic.

Here are the nominees for this week's girls Athlete of the Week:

Information about each nominee is listed below. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving at registerguard.com/sports. The poll closes at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Makya Alsup, Cottage Grove track and field​

Cottage Grove senior Makya Alsup launched a season-best javelin throw of 118 feet, 9 inches May 9 to place second at the Stayton Invitational.

Alsup's throw is the third-best in the state this season among Class 4A girls.

Scotlyn Curtis, Thurston track and field​

Thurston sophomore Scotlyn Curtis uncorked a personal-best discus throw of 113-10 May 9 to win the 76th Annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational.

Curtis' mark is the ninth-best in the state this season among Class 5A girls.

Olivia DeVore, Churchill track and field​

Churchill senior Olivia DeVore produced a personal-best pole vault mark of 11-6 to win the May 9 Junction City Invitational.

DeVore's height is the eighth-best in the state this season, regardless of classification.

Soraya Dorsey, Sheldon softball​

Sheldon senior right-handed pitcher Soraya Dorsey went 3 for 3 with three doubles and two RBIs May 12 to lead the Irish to a 15-0 win over South Eugene.

On the mound, Dorsey threw a three-inning no-hitter, struck out three and walked just one.

Valeri Gingerich, Junction City track and field​

Junction City senior Valeri Gingerich clocked a 100 personal-best of 12.68 to win the May 9 Junction City Invitational.

Gingerich's time is the third-fastest in the state this season among Class 4A girls. On the same day, she ran a 200 personal-best of 26.88, which ranks 10th among 4A girls.

Anya Griffith, Central Linn​

Central Linn sophomore Anya Griffith ran a personal-best 1,500 time of 4:49.81 May 9 to win the Stayton Invitational.

Griffith's time is the second-fastest in the state among Class 2A girls. At the same meet, Griffith ran a season-best 1:00.90 in the 400. That's the fifth-fastest time in 2A this season.

Dylan Hayworth, Harrisburg softball​

Harrisburg senior shortstop Dylan Hayworth went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs May 12 in a 14-4 win over Elmira that secured the Mountain Valley Conference title for the Eagles.

Daphnie Heckel, Thurston softball​

Thurston senior catcher Daphnie Heckel went 3 for 3 with three home runs and four RBIs May 9 to lead the Colts to a 25-0 win over Springfield.

In the first game of a doubleheader earlier that day, Heckel went 3 for 3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Brooklynn Huddleston, Harrisburg softball​

Harrisburg senior outfielder Brooklynn Huddleston went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs May 12 in a 14-4 win over Elmira that secured the Mountain Valley Conference title for the Eagles.

Shiloh Jackson, Elmira softball​

Elmira sophomore shortstop Shiloh Jackson went 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs May 15 to lift the Falcons to a 16-1 win over Creswell.

In the second game of a doubleheader later that day, Jackson went 3 for 4 with three RBIs in an 11-1 win.

Carly Knutson, Cottage Grove track and field​

Cottage Grove sophomore Carly Knutson ran a personal-best 4:59.33 1,500 and took eighth place May 15 at the Wally Ciochetti Invitational.

Knutson's time is the 11th-fastest in the state this season among Class 4A girls.

Mya McNamar, Junction City softball​

Junction City junior center fielder Mya McNamar went 3 for 5 with two doubles out of the leadoff spot May 12 to help the Tigers to a 12-3 win over North Bend.

Sydney Nelson, North Eugene golf​

North Eugene junior Sydney Nelson shot a two-round score of 186 (+42) to take fourth place at the May 11-12 Class 5A Special District 2 regional tournament at Mallard Creek Golf Course near Lebanon.

Ryan Thomas, Pleasant Hill track and field​

Pleasant Hill senior Ryan Thomas ran a season-best 100 time of 12.27 to win a May 13 Class 3A Special District 1 League meet.

Thomas' time is the second-fastest in the state this season among Class 3A girls.

Aniah Watson, Lowell track and field​

Lowell junior Aniah Watson clocked a personal-best 200 time of 26.86 May 13 to take second place at a Class 3A Speical District 1 meet.

Watson's time is the seventh-fastest in the state this season among Class 2A girls.
