The Eugene-Springfield area featured some of the most versatile athletes in all of Oregon during the 2025-26 school year.
Numerous local standouts earned all-state recognition or won state titles in multiple sports. Several of Lane County's stars shone in more than one sport during the same season.
Now, it's time for you to decide who was the best of the bunch.

Nominees for the 2025-26 Register-Guard multi-sport Athlete of the Year are:
The two-sport star completed a rare four-peat of boys wrestling state titles with Harrisburg, becoming just the 55th wrestler in state history to win four championships. Buzzard, who wrestled at Harrisburg because Marist Catholic does not have a wrestling program, also earned Class 4A first-team all-state football honors at linebacker for the Spartans.
The point guard on Marist Catholic's Class 4A state champion boys basketball team, Gabe Dietmeyer earned third-team all-state honors as a sophomore. He was also a second-team all-state wide receiver on the football field and was a contributor during the Spartans' run to the state baseball title.
Sophomore standout Leofatu Filipe was a Class 5A second-team all-state defensive end for the Colts' state quarterfinal football team. He also earned all-state honorable mention honors at forward for Thurston's state quarterfinal boys basketball squad.
One of the top shooters in Oregon, Sailor Hall helped Springfield girls basketball reach the Class 5A state title game and earned second-team all-state honors.
Hall also won the discus state title in track and field with a personal-best throw of 137 feet, 1 inch.
Cayden Hernandez was the driving force on Crow's football team, earning Class 1A 6-man first-team all-state honors as a running back, kicker and defensive lineman while leading the Cougars to the state title game. Additionally, last fall, Hernandez clocked a 5,000-meter personal-best of 20 minutes, 30.6 seconds for his school's boys cross-country team.
In track and field in the spring, Hernandez won the 1A discus state title with a mark of 157 feet, 10 inches.
Creswell senior Elliette Kinney was the focal point for Creswell's Class 3A girls basketball state semifinal team; she earned first-team all-state honors for the Bulldogs.
Kinney was also a first-team all-state pick on the soccer field after racking up 18 goals and 14 assists.
Thurston junior Rosie Montes was a Class 5A third-team all-state selection on the girls soccer field after helping the Colts reach the state playoffs. In the winter, she placed fifth in the 110-pound division at the 5A wrestling state championships.
In the spring, Montes earned honorable mention all-league honors for the Colts' softball team.
Junction City's Kaleb Moore capped off his historic high school track and field career by winning his third consecutive Class 4A shot put state title. He also garnered second-team all-state honors along the offensive line for the Tigers' state quarterfinal football team and was an all-league post on the school's basketball team.
There was not an athlete in Lane County who was busier this year than Thurston's Addison Nelson. The Colts senior was a second-team all-league selection on the volleyball court and also earned second-team recognition for Thurston's basketball team in the winter.
In the spring, Nelson won the Class 5A state triple jump title in track and field. She juggled triple duty that season; Nelson also played for the Colts' softball team and started at quarterback for the school's flag football team.
Lowell junior defensive end was named the Special District 2 defensive player of the year after helping the Devils win the league title.
In the spring track and field season, Norcutt won the Class 2A triple jump state title.
Willamette sophomore Macy Rush was a Class 6A girls soccer second-team all-state goalkeeper and the Southwest Conference keeper of the year. She also earned all-league basketball and softball honors for the Wolverines.
Willamette speedster Hunter Vaughn was one of the top football players and one of the fastest sprinters in the state during his senior season. Vaughn earned Class 6A all-state honors as a kick returner and wide receiver and also clocked a personal-best 100-meter dash time of 10.57 seconds — sixth-fastest in Oregon.
