Here are the nominees for The State Journal-Register's softball player of the year, according to the fans.
The poll closes at noon on Friday, June 19.
State runner-up Titans: Chatham Glenwood softball savors another historic run to 3A state final
Third-place Bullets: How freshman pitcher gave Williamsville softball fighting chance at state
Each of the six nominees achieved all-state honors from the Illinois Coaches Association. Each of the four seniors — Chatham Glenwood's Ryleigh Kiel (Penn State) and Irie Lohrenz (Miami Ohio); Petersburg PORTA's Aubrey Vogel (Eastern Illinois); and Havana's Kaydi Miller (Western Illinois) — will pivot to NCAA Division I.
The official players of the year and the rest of the all-area team will come out Thursday, June 18.
