Following the eighth week of winter sports in Western North Carolina, it's time to vote for this week's Ingles Western North Carolina boys Athlete of the Week.
Cherokee boys basketball's Samuel Hernandez won last week's Ingles WNC boys Athlete of the Week poll, while Erwin's Teasia Hines won the girls vote.
Vote for the boys athlete who had the best performance last week. The poll closes on Thursday at noon.
Who is the Ingles WNC boys Athlete of the Week for Jan. 5-10?
Ian Bailey, Asheville Christian Academy: Bailey poured in 24 points in a 65-63 win over Legacy Early College (SC) on Jan. 6 and recorded 25 points to lead the Lions to a 57-46 win over Covenant Day on Jan. 9.
Samuel Hernandez, Cherokee: Hernandez scored 26 points on eight made 3-pointers to guide the Braves to a 62-41 win over Hayesville on Jan. 6. He dropped 17 points, leading the Braves to another victory with a 94-24 win against Hiwassee Dam on Jan. 9.
Jaylin Brewer, East Henderson: Brewer scored 19 points to lead the Eagles to a 57-49 win over North Henderson on Jan. 6. He scored 24 points with six rebounds in a 64-39 win over Brevard on Jan. 9.
Jack Jack Teesateskie, Franklin: Teesateskie had 25 points, six assists and five steals in an 89-44 win vs. Tuscola on Jan. 6, then added 21 points for the Panthers in a 77-67 win over North Henderson on Jan. 9.
Cale Harger, Murphy: Harger scored 21 points in an 83-47 win vs. Nantahala on Jan. 6 and recorded 20 points with eight rebounds to help guide the Bulldogs to a 73-52 win over Andrews on Jan. 9.
Mason Putnam, Pisgah: Putnam recorded 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals on Jan. 6 in a 53-46 win vs. West Henderson and added 18 points and nine assists to help the Bears earn an 83-59 win over Tuscola on Jan. 9.
Aaron Jackson, Polk County: Jackson scored 20 points for the Wolverines in a 63-61 loss to Madison on Jan. 6. He recorded a double-double with 33 points and 13 rebounds in a 71-60 win over R-S Central on Jan. 8.
Adair Panama, Robbinsville: Panama recorded his 200th career win for the Black Knights as they won the Smoky Mountain Conference duals championship. It set a new conference record for career wins.
