The 2026 OSAA high school spring sports season is at the finish line and several Salem-Keizer area athletes have closed their respective seasons with state championship hardware across multiple sports.
Every week, you get to vote for the Statesman Journal’s Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Maps Credit Union.
Here are the nominees for this week’s boys Athlete of the Week.
Information about each nominee is listed below. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving at statesmanjournal.com/sports. The poll closes at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Arnold, a senior, won the Class 4A javelin with a 185-foot, 6-inch toss May 30 at the OSAA state championships.
Druliner, a junior, won the Class 5A high jump with a 6-6 leap May 30 at the OSAA state championships.
Girod, a junior, pitched a full seven innings and struck out nine batters in the Panthers' 4-2 win over Ridgeview June 2 in the OSAA 5A state semifinals.
Lute, a senior, pitched four innings and struck out six batters and posted a hit at the plate in the Eagles' 7-6 win over Umpqua Valley Christian June 2 in the OSAA Class 2A/1A state semifinals.
Stewart, a senior, finished second in the Class 6A high jump with a 6-8 1/4 clearance May 30 at the OSAA state championships.
Singleton, a senior, won the Class 6A 110-meter hurdles in 14.47 seconds May 30 at the OSAA state championships.
Walker, a junior, smacked three hits and scored four runs in the Trojans' 14-5 win over Monroe/Alsea June 2 in the OSAA 2A/1A state semifinals.
