Augusta's basketball season is entering its region competition portion, where heated rivalries take center stage. With those rivalries come with big performances from your favorite athletes. With that being said, let's take a look at last week's action. It is now your opportunity to vote for who should be named the Athlete of the Week for Jan. 4-11.

Below are the nominees for the Athlete of the Week from last week's action. The poll will be open until Sunday, Jan. 18 at 5 p.m.

Cherish Hunt, Greenbrier girls basketball​


The freshman scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Jayla Ayler, Greenbrier girls basketball​


The sophomore had 11 points and seven steals.

Emily McMurray, Greenbrier girls basketball​


The junior had 20 points to go along with three assists.

Kerri Fluellen, Josey girls basketball​


The senior had 21 points and five assists.

Montana Jenkins, Josey girls basketball​


The senior had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Ashley Walker, North Augusta girls basketball​


The junior scored 15 points and had six steals.

Denesha Hester, Thomson girls basketball​


The senior had 11 points to go along with eight rebounds.

Janiya Scott, Thomson girls basketball​


The senior scored 17 points and had three rebounds.

Sanai McKenzie-Watson, Grovetown girls basketball​


The junior had a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double.

La'Quinton Morgan, Burke County boys basketball​


The senior scored 24 points to go along with six assists.

Camari Warren, Burke County boys basketball​


The senior scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

De'Quavian Lovette, Burke County boys basketball​


The sophomore had 25 points and 10 rebounds.

AJ Williams, Harlem boys basketball​


The junior put up 29 points and nine assists.

Ty Shine, Harlem boys basketball​


The junior scored 17 points and dropped four dimes.

Kaven Johnson, Westminster boys basketball​


The senior had 12 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Amare Pryce, Grovetown boys basketball​


The senior had 23 points and two rebounds.
