Former Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller is already looking for his post-football career path. And he could be following in the footsteps of the man who drafted him.

In an interview with NFL analyst Rich Eisen, Miller talked about going to the combine and talking with general managers from across the NFL. Miller also talked about his experience sitting down with then-Broncos general manager John Elway and the Denver coaching staff during the pre-draft process in 2011.

Miller said that there was someone else in the room observing the proceedings: now-San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch, who was shadowing Elway at the time. "Whenever I'm going through my career and I'm thinking about what I want to do next, I want to be the guy shadowing Elway next time," Miller told Eisen.

Elway became the first executive to win a Super Bowl as a player and as a member of the front office. Miller became Elway's first NFL draft pick in 2011, a pick which proved to be foundational in the next decade-plus in Denver, a stretch which included two Super Bowl appearances, a championship and a Super Bowl MVP accolade for Miller.

Miller spoke about building relationships with other executives at the combine, and how it could potentially help him get to where he needs to go. "It's so many things that you can get from being at the combine," Miller said. "All the agents are there. All the scouts are there. All the top front office guys on each and every team are there. So there are multiple ways that I can build relationships and just kind of work my way up the ladder."

Miller may be looking ahead to his post-football career, but he believes he can still help a team on the field first. Miller is still currently a free agent, coming off a year spent with the Washington Commanders in 2025.

If Miller chooses to go the executive route, there may be no better place to cut his teeth than the place where he began his career.

In the meantime, Miller will soon be back in Denver to share stories of the legendary Super Bowl 50 run, alongside Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and DeMarcus Ware on April 22. Time will tell just where Miller's post-football path will take him.
