LAS VEGAS – Vitor Petrino met the media Saturday after his win over Steven Asplund at UFC Fight Night 269.

Petrino (14-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) grinded out a unanimous decision against Asplund (7-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) on the prelims at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Afterward, Petrino said he's looking for a bigger test in the heavyweight division and called out former title challenger Derrick Lewis.

"There are no easy opponents in the UFC. Everyone's tough. Everyone's trying to take your head off. At the same time, there's no three-headed monster there. I'm capable of getting to the top of this division.

"For sure, I'm going to go back to the gym as soon as possible. I'm ready for a fight. If Derrick Lewis is available, I'm ready for a fight. He's a tough fighter, someone who's been to the top. He's sitting there, almost like a gatekeeper in the division. I know that his name is going to propel me to the top of the division."
