Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Jonathan Greenard is among the hottest commodities on the offseason trade market.

Although Greenard didn’t wow spectators with his play/production this season, his 24.5 total sacks during the previous two campaigns prove he’s a superstar defender who’s beginning to come into his own.

In a blockbuster trade idea from ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, the Kansas City Chiefs would land Greenard in a deal that would send the Vikings a Super Bowl champion defensive end.

“Chiefs get: 1-18, 3-97, and edge Jonathan Greenard, and Vikings get: 1-9, edge Felix Anudike-Uzomah,” Barnwell wrote Monday. "This trade would value the difference between Greenard and Anudike-Uzomah -- a former first-round pick who hasn't impressed with the Chiefs -- as being worth the 54th pick, according to the Johnson chart, in a typical draft.”

“The Vikings would move up from No. 18 to No. 9 and put defensive coordinator Brian Flores in line to add one of the premier defensive backs in this year's class. The idea of Downs in a Flores defense is tantalizing, but the Vikings could also go for LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane here.”

“Trading Greenard would open cap space and create a spot in the starting lineup for Dallas Turner, who filled in for Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel when they were hurt last season.”

Anudike-Uzomah’s NFL career hasn’t started the way he likely hoped it would. After two lackluster seasons with the Chiefs as a former first-round pick, the 24-year-old suffered a devastating hamstring injury before the start of the 2025-26 season.

The Kansas, Missouri native’s lower-body setback forced him to miss the entire year. Anudike-Uzomah has recorded 41 total tackles, three total sacks, and two forced fumbles in 34 games with the Chiefs thus far.

If Anudike-Uzomah ever channels the version of himself that was a high-motor and strategic pass rusher in the Big 12, he could assist the Vikings in a hypothetical trade scenario.
