The Minnesota Vikings and their coaching staff are among the best in the entire NFL. Led by head coach Kevin O'Connell, their staff has remained intact for the most part outside of some assistants leaving, and none have seemingly had a bigger impact in departing than Grant Udinski.
The former offensive assistant took the Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator role in 2025, and as a result, he saw the unit take a giant leap in development. Players like Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, and Parker Washington all saw career years, and Jakobi Meyers, who came in the middle of the season, saw his career turn up as well.
All of this to paint a complete picture of the man and coach Udinski is comes from his former head coach. Speaking to the media at the NFL's Annual League Meetings on Tuesday, O'Connell gave Udinski a massive compliment.
He said of Udinski, "He's so unbelievably gifted, and his ability to look at the game, study the game, and then articulate it with not only his ideas, his imagination, but then how do we get those thoughts to the players, to be able to take advantage of those things? Couldn't have enjoyed my time with Grant (Udinski) more. . .we did a lot of cool stuff and stuff that allowed us to kind of consistently be, you know, a top six or seven passing attack in the NFL. . .his future's so bright, and we're probably all gonna be working for him eventually, so it's just a matter of time."
Udinski is working his way up the coaching ladder as he has already been interviewed for several head coaching jobs. Kevin O'Connell may not be working for him soon, but some coaches may be after another successful year for the Jaguars offense in 2026.
