The Minnesota Vikings' special teams unit took a gut punch yesterday when they lost punter and holder Ryan Wright to the New Orleans Saints. It immediately made everyone pivot and become worried about the status of long snapper Andrew DePaola, for if they lose him, then the unit would be in shambles.

Luckily for both the fans and the Vikings themselves, they no longer have to worry about that. The team announced on Tuesday that they had agreed to bring back their All-Pro long snapper. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the deal is for one year with a fully guaranteed $1.725 million.

DePaola has been an All-Pro for four straight seasons, with a split of first and second team selections between them. To add on to the distinctions he carries as the game's best at his position, he is also the only long snapper to be selected to four straight Pro Bowls.

With Will Reichard being back due to him still being on his rookie deal, and now DePaola locked up with another contract, the only thing left to complete special teams is a punter.
