LAS VEGAS – Conor McGregor didn't keep his hands to himself during his first UFC 329 faceoff with Max Holloway.

Following an energetic pre-fight news conference Thursday at T-Mobile Arena (Paramount+), the two fighters came face-to-face nearly 13 years after their first meeting in Boston.

McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) bounded toward Holloway (27-9 MMA, 23-9 UFC) when it came time to square up. In a flash, he ripped off Holloway's sunglasses. Holloway remained composed. The two were allowed to reconvene, but with an added level of caution from security and other promotional staff.

There are dramatic differences for both men coming into the second encounter, and it's clear McGregor and Holloway bring extreme confidence into the rematch after expressing strong words in front of fans and media at the press conference.

They then got face-to-face for a staredown, where the intensity was evident from both former UFC champions.
