Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight prospect Steven Asplund suffered the first Octagon defeat of his career at UFC Vegas 114 last night (Sat., March 14, 2026), dropping a competitive unanimous decision to Brazil’s Vitor Petrino inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Asplund was transported to the hospital immediately following the bout, but during the ambulance ride, he jumped on Instagram to address the loss and show off the damage from the brutal three-round war.

“Alright, that is clearly not the decision we wanted,” Asplund laughed. “I ain’t going to lie, bro, I thought I was going to get the nod. I mean, obviously my face looks like a mess, but f—k, I dropped that bastard two times and got up from a f—king takedown and he couldn’t sub me. Hey man, I told you motherf—kers you’re going to have to kill me — and ‘Concrete’ is still pushing.”
Despite the loss, Asplund remained upbeat and made it clear he wants to get back inside the Octagon as soon as possible.
“So I’ll see whoever is next in a couple of months,” Asplund added. “Hey Dana, I hope you liked that crap. Holler at your boy, man. I’m just a fat kid trying to be something. Thank you guys for all the love and support — it means a lot.”
The defeat snapped Asplund’s four-fight win streak, which included a ‘Fight of the Night’ victory in his UFC debut against Sean Sharaf (watch highlights), as well as his contract-winning performance on Contender Series, where he knocked out Anthony Guarascio in just 16 seconds.
