SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — District play is officially on the Central Bobcats’ horizon for the 2025-26 regular season.
The Central Bobcats have found their groove lately, starting the new year with consecutive wins over ranked opponents Jayton and Ellison to conclude their non-district schedule. The Bobcats carry a three-game winning streak overall into their district opener Friday night versus Frenship, the defending Class 6A Region I District 2 champion.
Four Bobcats are averaging double digit points scored per game this season, led by Talmadge “TK” Taylor with 19.7. Last season, Central finished third place in its district with a 5-5 record. One year later, head coach Arsenio Geter believes his team can reach greater heights.
“If we do the things that we work on, [such as] ending a defensive possession with a rebound, being physical, knowing where we’re supposed to be on offense, taking care of the ball and putting the ball in the hole, I think we’re really hard to stop,” Geter said. “If we play really good day in and day out, I think we have a good chance of being successful every game and that leads to district championships. That’s our goal.”
The Bobcats tip off their district opener on Friday, Jan 16 at 7:30 p.m. CST, looking to start with a high note on their home floor.
