There may not be an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) card or mega boxing event this weekend because Fourth of July lands on a Saturday this year, but Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is still getting weird.

BKFC Liberty Brawl goes down this Friday inside Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the card is headlined by two title fights. Former WBA boxing champion-turned bare-knuckle brawler Austin Trout takes on Ben Bonner for the vacant BKFC Lightweight championship, while Britain Hart defends her BKFC women’s Strawweight title against Sarah Shell.

But the fight that suddenly has the most heat might be the featured bout between hometown fighter Johnny Garbarino and former BKFC Lightweight champion Mike Richman.

That is because during the BKFC Liberty Brawl press conference, Garbarino ran up and pelted Richman with a cannoli — something he has done several times before to past opponents.

Richman did not immediately react.

“Do you feel better, kid?” Richman said. “You feel better, boy? You ain’t going to get me mad; I’m going to save it for Friday. You got me.”

Well, that did not last long.

Later in the press conference, the two went at it again, trading insults from their seats.

“Shut up, you f—king p—y,” Richman told Garbarino. “You’re a little baby ass bitch. No one is even cheering you on. Just shut the f—k up and let’s fight Friday, bitch.”

Garbarino fired back that he would smack Richman right then and there while getting up from his seat.

That was enough for Richman.

The former BKFC champion grabbed a folding chair, WWE style, and rushed toward Garbarino before security stepped in and stopped things from getting uglier. Richman later admitted that Garbarino “got a rise” out of him.

The two later faced off after the press conference with security standing between them, and Garbarino hit Richman with another cannoli — while also accidentally catching BKFC president David Feldman in the process.

So, yeah, pretty normal BKFC stuff.

I’m not sure anyone cared much about this fight before today, but Garbarino and Richman definitely did their part to change that.

Now, there is cannoli beef in Philadelphia.
