Victor Wembanyama is making his first NBA postseason look like something he was built to dominate from the start.
The Spurs star delivered 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as San Antonio beat Oklahoma City 118-91 last Thursday night to force Game 7.
He also shot 4-for-9 from three-point range, giving the Thunder another problem and helping him surpass an important Tim Duncan playoff mark.

Game 6 was Wembanyama’s eighth game with at least 25 points and multiple blocks this postseason, the most in one Spurs playoff run.
According to ESPN, that moves him ahead of Tim Duncan’s 2005 and 2006 marks, which is serious company for a player still in his first postseason.
It is also the most such games by any NBA player in a single playoff run since Shaquille O’Neal had 10 in 2002.
Wembanyama added another Spurs record by producing his fifth 20-point half of the postseason to start Game 6, the most by a San Antonio player in the play-by-play era, in other words, since 1997.
The numbers keep stacking up. According to The Lead, Wembanyama’s 59 blocks in 16 playoff games already top every active player’s single-postseason total.
Anthony Davis is the closest active comparison on that list, with 50, which shows how quickly the Frenchman has separated himself defensively.
The Spurs still need one more win in Oklahoma City. But Wembanyama’s debut playoff run already looks less like an arrival and more like a warning.
