Tempe, Arizona — Veteran NFL offensive lineman John
Fina, who appeared in seven games for the Cardinals in
2002, and seven other athletes will be inducted into
the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame on
Saturday, April 26 from 5:30 p.m.-midnight at the
McKale Center on the University of Arizona campus.

Fina, a Tucson native, Salpointe High School graduate,
and Tucson resident, started 27 games as a Wildcat and
was an all-Pac 10 Conference selection as a senior. He
garnered the Academic Achievement Award in 1988-1991.

The 6-5, 299-pound Fina, who signed with the Cardinals
on September 9, 2002, injured his ankle November 3
against St. Louis in his seventh appearance and was
inactive for the next seven games before being placed
on injured reserve December 24 prior to the
regular-season finale at Denver.

A 10-year mainstay of the Buffalo Bills’ offensive line
and a nine-year starter, Fina helped lead the Bills to
Super Bowls in 1992 and ’93. Overall, Fina appeared in
148 games (131 starts) as a Bill.
