Venezia transfer move falls through for West Ham flop Niclas Fullkrug

West Ham United want to sell Niclas Fullkrug this summer following an uninspiring spell in East London. He is currently training individually away from the club.
However, according to Sport Bild, Fullkrug’s proposed transfer to Venezia has fallen through as West Ham are demanding too much money.
West Ham are not desperate for funds as they have already sold Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville for big money.
The German international joined the Hammers in 2024 but struggled to make an impact as injuries hampered his time.
He left on loan to Italy last season and was equally poor there, returning to England this summer to find an exit route.
Unfortunately, it seems West Ham’s demands have put off Venezia.
It remains unclear whether they will continue talks to get the Irons to drop the price or if any other clubs enter the race.
Clubs from Germany might consider Fullkrug in the closing days of the window, or at least West Ham will hope so.
West Ham need to find a way to get Fullkrug off their books.
The 33-year-old has not delivered enough to justify his place in the squad, and his wages make the situation even more frustrating.
He is one of the highest-paid players at the club, yet West Ham have seen very little return on that investment since his arrival.
Getting his salary off the wage bill would give the Hammers flexibility to reshape the squad and bring in a forward better suited to Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.
Another high earner West Ham are reportedly looking to sell is Edson Alvarez, although his situation is rather different.
Despite the player angling for a sale, Nuno is reportedly pleased with the midfielder’s attitude since returning to training.
If Alvarez can show the form of his first season in England, the Hammers might be tempted to keep him, but Fullkrug is a player they should shift even for a paltry sum.
