Left-handed pitcher Miller Green will remain out for Vanderbilt baseball against LSU, and England Bryan is not likely to return either, coach Tim Corbin told The Tennessean on March 10.

As for right-handed pitcher Austin Nye, the team's Saturday starter, and catcher Colin Barczi, the statuses are more uncertain as the Commodores are set to take on LSU to open SEC play.

"Nye is going to throw again tomorrow, we'll just evaluate him," Corbin said. "Don't know about the weekend yet."

For Barczi, Corbin said, "we'll see" if he is available. Barczi, who suffered a shoulder injury during the first week of the season, has returned to swinging a bat, but he did not participate in pregame infield-outfield warmups before a 14-6 win over Indiana State. Barczi hit .286 with three home runs in five games this season.

Bryan, Green and Nye are three of the six pitchers who are currently out for Vanderbilt. Green, who has not yet pitched this season, had a 3.44 ERA in 40 appearances in 2024 and 2025. Nye did not allow an earned run and had 13 strikeouts to two walks in three starts this season. Bryan had a 10.12 ERA in four appearances and recorded one save.

According to Corbin, Bryan has not yet begun throwing after experiencing soreness following an outing against UC Irvine on Feb. 27.

The other three pitchers who are out have more long-term ailments. Sophomore Matthew Shorey and freshman Aiden Stillman also have not pitched this season, with Stillman potentially returning in a few weeks. Freshman Adria Casoliba suffered a hamstring injury during a game against North Dakota State on March 7.

Outfielder Logan Johnstone, who was out of the lineup for the Sycamores game, was dealing with food poisoning and the issue is not serious, Corbin said.

Vanderbilt will be required to release an injury report on March 12 ahead of the LSU series, which will take place March 13-15 at Hawkins Field.
