Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was back in action as India locked horns with Zimbabwe in the second encounter of the three-match T20I series in Harare on Saturday.
After a disappointing outing during the England series, Sooryavanshi bounced back in style at one of his familiar stomping grounds and scored an 18-ball 50.
It was his first international half-century, and that made him the youngest-ever to record that feat. During the innings, he smashed four sixes and an equal number of boundaries to tear apart the Zimbabwean pace attack.
It was a massive relief to the youngster as he had failed to justify his inclusion against England. His duel with Jofra Archer was one-sided, and after three repeated failures, the team management decided to bench the teenager at Southampton.
